The Stratos is a continuation of Javier’s exploration of creating timeless pieces by working with a rich material palette and enhancing their aesthetic quality through a juxtaposition of different materials in a subtle tectonic narrative.
The heavy steel posts are positioned diagonally to embrace the seat position but also to sharpen the overall geometry and to express more levity to the heavy platform table top. The chiseled edge details create a series of reveals and chamfers creating an intimate visual and tactile experience.
